My Skating Philosophy
I was passionate, dedicated and determined to be the best I could be.

I will never forget the first time I entered an ice rink. I instantly fell in love with it. I skated as an amateur for 20 years, predominantly as a singles skater but also for a short time as a pairs skater, during which time I was fortunate to work with many high level international coaches.
Looking back on my career, I believe my greatest attribute was my superlative work ethic, which when combined with my passionate enthusiasm enabled me to achieve a senior international standard of competition. I overcame a number of challenging hurdles as an athlete which I had to prevail over in order to compete at a high level, and this translated into incredibly beneficial experiences I utilise every day as a coach.
One particular highlight was being asked by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to perform a solo for HM Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her Golden Jubilee Celebration in 2002.
